Problem Statement
As part of any infrastrucutre construction and management company the most biggest challenge is process optimization.
We were presented with a problem where they wanted to lower down the overall cost involved through the process of construction. But, there only concern was the timelines as they were not ready to slow down the process to earn more.
Solutions Provided
As a logical path we started to analyze all the aspects a project has which relates to increase or decrease a project value. We also did go through the cost involved in terms of resource utilization for every project.
The answer came down failry easy when we came to know that all we needed to do was placing resources at the right time. There was a lot of idle time a resource was serving which normally led for high cost. Also, a proper split of project in phases was not done and if proper coordination was created across these phases it would have allowed for more cost reduction.
After all our solutions were implemented the cost reduction was around 1.3% per project on average which made a huge difference to the company we were working with.
